Anaïs Remili wins the 2019 edition of the My Northern Project competition
Congratulations to Anaïs Remili, PhD student in Natural Resources Sciences at McGill University! She won the international final of My Northern Project, a science popularization competition, held on October 12 at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Under the supervision of Professor Melissa McKinney, Ms. Remili is working on a project entitled " Dual-proxy approaches to resolve the feeding ecology of killer whales, Orcinus orca, across the northeastern Atlantic Ocean". Using high resolution chemical markers, she is trying to establish different ecotypes among those populations of killer whales and to understand how pollution affects them.
